Companies are increasingly adopting circular business models, including sports and outdoors. Felix Philipp and Manuel Braun identify three main patterns, and the best practices already being established, in this quick guide.

Companies are increasingly adopting Circular Business Models  – the movement is out of the starting blocks and gaining momentum across industries, including sports and outdoors. Especially in these sectors, sustainability and the circular economy are no longer a ‘nice to have’ but are quickly becoming a market differentiator and driver of brand value.

Exploring these opportunities is relatively easy but building truly circular business models is quite challenging and takes time, so starting early pays off, even if it is small and incremental. We expect these models to evolve and mature over the next years, and the companies that succeed will create superior value and strengthen relations with existing and new customer segments.

We see three types of business model patterns emerging with nine best practices already being applied in the sports sector and beyond.
