“SYSTEMIQ is only about the people that we have – both how they are drawn to the mission of SYSTEMIQ individually, and how they come together.”

Martin Stuchtey and Jeremy Oppenheim decided to create SYSTEMIQ on the day of the Paris Agreement, and went on to found the company in early 2016 – little knowing that Trump and Brexit were just around the corner. But staying hopeful and driving positive change, in spite of huge challenges, has become part of SYSTEMIQ’s identity. “I sometimes wonder if the fact of having such an exceptional community comes from having been tested”, said Martin, “and that created some of the bonds that now make up the culture of SYSTEMIQ”.

So, five years and 300 projects later, it seemed only right to look back to those early days, and to see what SYSTEMIQ has come to mean for the people who work here. “I love the place”, said Ben Onyemem. “To meet so many people who have similar goals, who want to do things differently. But, more importantly, it’s lovely to see the impact the company has had, across different economies and in the lives of so many people.”

Teams from Brazil, Indonesia, the Netherlands, France, Germany and the UK got involved in the making of the film, from sharing memories and motivations, to posing for team videos and family photos. But the biggest thanks are reserved for everyone who has been part of the journey over the past five years, and has helped us set our direction in a growing, global movement for positive change.

We hope you enjoy the film.

With many thanks to the creative geniuses at https://runaway.world/
